The latest INCON University and INCON Board meeting was recently held in Rome. The event was organised by AIM Group International and EGA Worldwide, both PCOs and part of the INCON Partnership. The great success of the program was possible due to the active support and collaboration of Roma & Lazio Convention Bureau and local partners.

INCON, as a select partnership of the world’s leading conference, event and association management companies, has one of its major goals in developing knowledge through training programmes and the sharing of experiences among partners.

The aim of the INCON University is to educate in particular senior executives from INCON Partner companies on developments in the meetings industry and provide a forum to facilitate the interchange of knowledge. The focus of this University was on “Integrated creative and digital marketing for conferences and events”.

Students from all over the world gathered in Rome, from: Mexico, Japan, Australia, UK, Italy, Israel, Switzerland and the USA. Keynote speakers Max Galli on digital thinking and Miguel Neves on social media wowed the audience with their expertise, passion and creativity.

At the same time, the INCON Board Members gathered to discuss further developments and set the basis of a brand and digital transformation of the Partnership.

All of this was crowned by a rich social programme which allowed participants to discover some of the stunning locations, congress centres, hotels and service providers that can support the successful organisation of congresses and events in the Eternal City.

During the three-day conference, held at the luxury Naiadi and Excelsior Hotels, lectures were spaced out by student presentations and interactive workshops.

A welcome cocktail was held in the charming Casina Valadier, located in the heart of Villa Borghese, which is a jewel in the green of the park on the Pincian Hill between history and art. From there, guests could admire a wonderful view of the city.

Participants also enjoyed a visit to the historical Musei Capitolini and its rich art collection and the modern Convention Centre La Nuvola, created by the world-famous architect Massimiliano Fuksas, a new iconic building of Rome that encompasses a floor area of nearly 60,000 sqm provides 8,000 seats, and 30 break-out meeting rooms.

Dinner was organized at the Salone delle Fontane, situated at the centre of EUR, the modern and dynamic district of Rome that is considered the Capital’s main business quarter and is to become, in the near future, the first conference district in Italy.

Finally, the Farewell Dinner was unforgettable, as it was held at the prestigious aristocratic Palazzo Colonna, a private museum full of masterpieces that left the guests speechless and wonderstruck!

Most of the INCON group have visited Rome on many occasions. The visit which culminated in St Regis Hotel, “cast a new light” on what can be achieved in Rome. Everything, the meeting venues, accommodation, catering, attention to detail and the overall quality of the welcome and hospitality were just outstanding.

INCON hopes to return to these venues with their international clients.
