CHALLENGE
The challenge was to work with two organizations at the same time; the International European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society represented by their core PCO, and at the same time, the Israeli association headed by Dr. Ovadia, who was the one who actually helped bringing the conference to Israel.
We needed to bridge the gaps between the European's work methods and the Israeli methods, keeping everyone confident that the conference will be produced in a qualitative and professional manner in accordance with international standards and that everything we'll be ready on time.

SOLUTIONS
Diplomacy, communication and patience.
Since the process began with the Israeli association, and later on the European Society chose to work with an Italian Core PCO - OIC, we need to implement work methods that will suit both sides.
The solution was to split responsibilities: ORTRA was in charge of all local logistic services and onsite services in full coordination with the Italian organizer, and OIC was responsible for the scientific management of the conference, registration and sponsors & exhibition. Both OIC and ORTRA worked in cooperation keeping good communication between both sides and with the understanding and patience to accept and overcome the differences.

OUTCOMES
The conference was a huge success, participants from all over the world were very happy for the opportunity to visit Israel, some for the first time. A Wonderful venue by the sea, social activities, evening events and the Israeli sunshine in April constituted a qualitative balance between a professional scientific conference and an enjoyable social encounter with the opportunity to meet with the Israeli unique mentality.
